Monday - No work though!

Started the day with lunch as is appropriate when one is a layabout. Cheese, bisuits, smoked salmon - basically the same as all the other times this week except the fridge is getting low on stock now.

Dinner was Veil, it was very tasty.

Tomorrow I have some plans which I'm doubtful of, I can say that here as I know for a fact only one of those people is likely to read this site, and I bet she won't.

People I haven't seen for a while but thought it would be amusing to "touch base" with again, see whats happening. Anyway if it does go quagmire i'm headed off to south of france of thursday and well out of reach of vengance. Muwuhahar!

Saturday

Woke up early and feeling a little out of sorts from the night before.

Bimbled up to Oxford, had a cornish pasty. Went to the Ashmoleian and wandered around it with Molly - Qudos on the badge making and cuniform inscription on clay they were doing for the 2-5 year olds (plus me and molly).

Met Jo, drove back to London, dinner at mine. Braised beef and vegetables with some poisonous Rioja.

Knackering day, early wake up and driving and the night before, calls for an early night - i'm crashing now.

Friday - Last day at work

Breakfast: Fried tomatoes with a friend egg and bacon.

Lunch: Cornish pasty and a bottle of ribena (plus a few wedges of 3day old sandwiches from the fridge).

Dinner: Turkey escalope with Ratatouille.

Then I went out: pint of fosters, bottle of wine, 2 snake bites: - small lamb doner, then a few chuncks of ham from the fridge.

Thursday

Breakfast: Fried egg and bacon with some mushrooms.

Lunch: well, a process of eating a few sandwiches from the fridge, left over from a meeting yesterday. However when I left the office I did take in a chinese chicken noodle portion, a little greasy but not bad.

Dinner: Guinea fowl with steamed potatoes, beans and purple sprouting broccoli.

I way well snack on cheese and biscuits tonight as its early yet... more on that later, maybe!

Robin - Added to the blogroll!

Robin AKA Mr. Astrophysics has started his own blog. It would appear his first proper posting is a homage to me, an apple crumble.

Immitation is a fine form of flatter indeed:

keep up the good work!

Favourite word of today.

Whilst reading B3ta (on my links) today i read a short article which used the word "hippocrocopig" to describe a fat ugly person. This word is genius. If anyone spots any similar "words" let me know.

Did you know? (rant)

Don't you find that atleast once a week someone will ask you one of those annoying 'did you know...' questions such as: "Did you know the doors that cover US nuclear silos weigh 748 tons and opens in 19 seconds."

They aren't really asking the question so much as showing off their 'knowledge' recently gleamed from a website of no academic pedigree. Also why would I know? why would I care? It seems more people know that there are hundreds if not thousands of different types of potato than something more mainstream.

Anyway my advice to annoying 'did you know' people is go learn joined up writing before telling, I'm sorry, asking me if I know that "screaming lord sutch was the longest serving party leader until he hung gimself". I'm not interested. Tell me something useful sure, and feel free to prefix with "d'ya know" but dont keep hammering yr silly little "fun facts" from the "bumper book of fun facts for dummies".

nuff said, grrr...

Tuesday

Breakfast: 3 fried mushrooms and a cup of tea.

Lunch: Fish and chips followed by some chicken and bacon potato skins covered in cheese with sweet potatoes. 2 large glasses of red.

Dinner: Beef stew with broccoli and steamed potatoes.

All very nice meals - I feel breakfast needs to up its ante in future, it's letting the side down.

Isn't it supposed to be the most important meal? However, isn't waking early and lazing around a while until one is properly awake before eating breakfast the same as getting up abruptly dashing down a cup of tea going to work and having an early lunch?

Patronising Quotation of the day/year (?)
